Releases come out every few weeks. Updating never touches your settings and never re-downloads the models you already have.
Check a download before running it: certutil -hashfile holdtotype-setup.exe SHA256
| Step | What the program does |
|---|---|
| Check | Asks the GitHub releases API, only if you left that switch on. Nothing identifying is sent. |
| Download | Fetches the installer over HTTPS, showing progress. You can cancel it. |
| Verify | Compares the file against the SHA-256 published with the release. A mismatch, or a missing hash, stops the update and deletes the file. |
| Install | Runs the installer, which replaces the program and the engines and leaves config.json, the models and the history alone. |
models\, which no update touches. A version bump costs about 35 MB, not the several gigabytes the models take.Prefer to do it by hand? Download the archive, unpack it over the folder, keep your config.json. Prefer never to be asked? Turn the check off in System; nothing will contact GitHub again.
The program can check for itself, or you can take the latest from here.
